Weird, that for me, the person with the background of living in an autocratic country, that wasn’t too clear from the beginning.
I believe that’s a very good thing, to educate the youth1 what this autocratic world is.
As it’s always the same, regardless of it’s location. Whether it’s russia, Belarus, some Asian state, some galaxy far-far away. It’s a lawless state, where everybody can be arrested and gulaged for no particular reason at all, on a false premise.
As we must understand, the target audience of this franchise is mostly young boys and girls, not the elderly people. (Except we, boys and girls of the original Star Wars, are elderly now.) ↩︎
