Had another conversation in iMessages with my close friend. I’ve been walking down the street and saw a very beautiful sunset. One side of the sky was so vivid blue, the other side was very gloomy. And there were many rays of susnet, they made this sky too beautiful not to react to it.
That was within one immersively huge sky, and it was impossible to catch it with my silly iPhone 4S camera. I’ve been chatting with my friend at that very moment. I’ve tried to send her this beautiful sky, so to share this moment with her.
And here I was, realising it’s just not very shareable. No HDR would help. Not a panaramic shot, not a video, they just won’t catch the beautify of it. You either there and you see it, or you’re not there and you don’t.
By sharing — or to say it differently — by willing to share I’ve been losing that precious moment too.
I took the picture anyway. But it looks like I would never re-view that picture, it’s mostly worthless. It’s useful only by being useless and me realising that.
